FACULTY OPENINGS:

High School English Teacher
2018-2019 School Year
Full-time:  M, T, Th, F from 7:30am-3:30pm and Wednesdays from 7:30am-4pm
Instructional Day:  8:00am-3:00pm

 

Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking a High School English teacher with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English. The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in education, an ACSI and/or South Carolina teaching certificate, and have at least one year of experience in teaching high school students (9th through 12th grade). Candidate should feel comfortable planning, creating, and implementing lessons that promote an engaging, positive and interactive learning environment. Additionally, candidate should be able to prepare, administer and evaluate tests and classroom assignments following curriculum guidelines. Candidate for this position must demonstrate a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a passion for students, and an understanding of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching. High School Science Teacher

Upper School Bible Teacher 
2018-2019 School Year

Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking an individual who can share his/her passion for the Word of God and motivate students to live for Christ. Qualifications include evidence of Biblical training with a minimum of a bachelor's degree with school classroom experience in teaching the Bible in any or all of grades 8-12. Applicants should be comfortable with a Reformed theological understanding of scripture, be able to articulate a clear understanding of the Gospel, and relate biblical truth to students in a meaningful and effective way. All PCA Bible teachers must attend East Cooper Baptist Church and be in agreement with the ECBC/PCA Statement of Beliefs and Lifestyle statements. Upper School Art Teacher
2018-2019 School Year
Full-time:  M, T, Th, F from 7:30am-3:30pm and Wednesdays from 7:30am-4pm
Instructional Day:  8:00am-3:00pm 

Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking an Upper School Art Teacher with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in art, art education, or equivalent degree. The preferred candidate will have experience teaching art to high school students and/or middle school students. Strongly preferred is experience teaching Advanced Placement Studio Art. Candidate must have strong working knowledge of art terms (elements and principals of art), art history, as well as techniques, including drawing, painting, color theory, printmaking, mixed media, and 3D art, etc. Candidate  must be able to multi-task, plan, and teach engaging and challenging age-appropriate art lessons. Additionally, candidate should be able to stay on feet much of the day and prepare student artwork for exhibitions and competitions. Candidate for this position must demonstrate a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a passion for art, patience with students, and an understanding of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching and classroom management. Middle School History Teacher

2018-2019 School Year

STAFF OPENINGS:


Principals' Assistant 

2018-2019 School Year 
Full-time: Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking a Principals' Assistant with a minimum of an Associate's degree and 1-2 years of experience in an administrative support role.  The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or higher and have 3 years or more of experience in an adminstrative support role.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Managing schedules, making phone calls, and sustaining the work flow of two Administrators
  • Attending to the needs of the faculty and staff with a servant heart and gracious attitude
  • Managing the purchase, disbursement, and storing of textbooks and supplies
  • Managing the school calendar through input from Administration
  • Coordinating events on campus through the use of online scheduling program and collaborating with ECBC facilities personel

Essential skills:
  • Spiritual and emotional maturity
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, ability to meet deadlines, good problem solvers
  • Able to manage work flow and anticipate the needs of the Administrators

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT OPENINGS:


Varsity/JV Swim Coach
Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking a head coach to develop our Varsity/JV Swim program that will consistently compete for state championships while providing a solid Christian role model for our students. Interested candidates should submit an Application to Coach and contact the Athletic Director, Dale Hoover, at dhoover@palmettochristianacademy.org or by calling 843-696-0933. This is a seasonal position paid by stipend. At least 2 years head coaching experience at the high school level or above is preferred, but not required. All PCA coaches are required to submit to a background check and must sign a Lifestyle statement in agreement with the PCA Statement of Beliefs
