Faith In Action
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16
Developing servant leaders with a heart for God is an integral part of who we are at Palmetto Christian Academy. We demonstrate "Faith In Action" through providing weekly chapel services for all students, supporting Camp Brittney in Costa Rica through gifts and mission trips, and devoting our time and talents within our community in a variety of service opportunities.
Upper School Chapel
Our upper school chapels provide opportunities for the students to lead and participate in worship, hear Bible teaching and testimony from administrators and teachers, and worship with and learn from guest speakers as varied as local youth pastors to missionaries from around the world. The theme this year for chapel is peripateo. It is a Greek word used in Ephesians many times that means "as you walk out your life". Our theme verse is Ephesians 2:10 which says "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk (peripateo) in them."
Lower School Chapel
This is a focused time for our students to worship, fellowship, and deepen their relationship with Christ. We strive to instill in our students a deep love and longing for worshiping our holy and mighty God. Students are exposed to a variety of speakers throughout the year while having several opportunities for personal leadership. Chapel is an anticipated highlight of the week in Lower School.
We encourage every opportunity for our high school, middle school, elementary students, and their families to walk beside those in our community to lend a helping hand and to be the hands and feet of Christ. As we reach out to those in our community, our prayer is that the light of Christ will be made evident to all and that He might be given all the glory. Twenty hours of community service are required of each high school student on an annual basis.
Camp Brittney in Costa Rica
PCA students not only volunteer locally, but also desire to make an impact globally. As a school-wide project, Palmetto Christian supports Camp Brittney, a residential camp for underprivileged children in Costa Rica. Our school sends 20 to 25 students, from Kindergarteners to Seniors, to serve at the camp once a year. Over the past six years, PCA has raised more than $47,700 to support the camp. Learn more about God's work at Camp Brittney by visiting their website here.
Each year, February is designated as “Heart for Missions Month” at PCA. We collect money for Camp Brittney, and welcome missionaries from around the world to speak with our students about sharing God's message of hope and love to his children everywhere.
