Admission to Palmetto Christian Academy is the responsibility of the Admissions Committee. Assistance in the admission process can be received from Lisa Shimakonis. Several criteria are used to determine if PCA is the right school for your child.
First, PCA seeks to enroll children from Christian families. At least one parent must profess to be a Christian and give a credible testimony of a relationship with Jesus Christ. This requirement is made because it is important for the mission and core values of parents and the mission and core values of the school to be closely aligned.
Secondly, admissions testing may be required for all new students. Standardized test results and recommendations from former teachers may be used in lieu of admissions testing for students entering second grade and above. PCA does not have the capability to provide for the special needs of children with learning disabilities. Test results are confidential and viewed only by the parents and Admissions Committee.
Applications for admission are given prayerful consideration. There are multiple factors which influence the decisions of the admissions committee such as re-enrollment of current students, siblings of PCA students and ECBC members.
Palmetto Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national or
ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or
made available to students at the school. PCA does not discriminate on the basis of race,
color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission
policies, and other school-administered programs.
