2nd Graders Explore Downtown Charleston in Walking History Tour

main image

On November 1, the PCA second graders went on a field trip to downtown Charleston. The children spent the morning exploring our city and culture. Each class had their own tour guide who gave them a unique historical tour. Highlights from the tours included learning about buildings and architecture, the founding of Charleston, historical churches, Blackbeard the pirate, and the Powder Magazine.

Following the tours, the classes reunited along the waterfront (by the Pineapple Fountain) and enjoyed sack lunches on the lawn before heading back to school. It was a wonderful morning filled with history, beauty and fun.
