The Cross Country teams competed in the SCISA State Championship meet this weekend. The girls' team finished third, only 1 point out of second, and the boys' team finished 5th.  Both teams tied the best finish positions ever for PCA but actually had the best performances based on proximity to the team in front of them.  Addison Hewitt (11th), Tabitha Hewitt (13th), and Ella Banks (20th) led the way for the girls while the boys were led by Hans Payne (1st), Ethan Gawryluk (13th), and Gabe Moser (30th). Hans Payne earned the title of individual STATE CHAMPION with a 14 second victory over the second place finisher.

Coach Dale Hoover said, "I am extremely proud of our kids for the effort they made, not only today, but throughout the season. It has been a strange season with all of the Covid protocols but I love how our kids pushed themselves and adapted to each twist and turn. Three of our runners were unable to compete at state so our kids entered the state meet determined to step in and step up for those teammates."
