Juniors Explore Options With Fall College Tour

For this year's Fall College Tour, the junior class embarked on a three-day trip that covered the following campuses: Clemson, Anderson, Furman, Wofford and The University of South Carolina. Our first stop was Bob Jones University where the students attended a performance of Shakespeare’s "Richard III". Students also attended an RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) worship service at Clemson University and enjoyed dinner with PCA alumni who attend college in the upstate.

The purpose of the annual Fall College Tour is to introduce our students to three different types of colleges--a large state university, a liberal arts college, and a Christian university. Catalogs and mail outs from various schools are an introduction to college life but there’s nothing quite like setting foot on the campus and walking the grounds yourself. A campus tour gives you a much more personal sense of the college and how you see yourself (or not) spending years there. The students also gained valuable information such as what questions to ask about a campus, the cost of a degree program, and academic majors and minors.

When asked what he enjoyed most about the trip, Blaise Sorensen said, “It was really fun to tour the schools together.”

Bella De Los Reyes enjoyed the Richard III performance at Bob Jones, "It was cool to see the play especially after reading it in class. I enjoyed the quality of the actors, especially John Michael Cox who played Richard III."
