Tide Is Out; School Is In!
Last Friday the 4th graders enjoyed a field trip to Capers Island. The children took a ferry down the intracoastal waterway to Capers Island, a barrier island, just off the Atlantic Ocean. The tour guide, from Barrier Island Eco Tours, taught the students about respecting the environment and how the marine ecosystem plays an important role in nature. Part of the tour included running down the beach and exploring a section of the island known as bone yard beach. The students were able to observe blue crabs, birds, and many different sea creatures in their natural habitats. It is an amazing opportunity to have a field trip to the beach. The children got fresh air, exercise and a hands on experience enjoying God’s beautiful creations. After exploring the island, the children were treated to a cookout on the beach where they enjoyed hotdogs and cheeseburgers. Hanging out on the beach with over 30 of your closest friends is not a bad way to kick off the weekend.
