Laura Tyler
High School Spanish TeacherLaura received her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Spanish from Clemson University in 2002. She was born in Greenville, SC, but grew up in northern Mexico as a missionary kid. She spent her childhood playing with her brothers and her friends in the Sierra Madre Mountains, and then went on to attend an international school in Chihuahua. Laura’s knowledge and appreciation of the Spanish language stems from her deep love for the people of Mexico. She has also traveled to Central America many times, visiting Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala for student and mission trips. Laura takes a lot of joy in teaching, and has spent more than fifteen years in the classroom. She prays to continue to influence the next generation toward an appreciation of all cultures and languages, toward an openness to travel, and most importantly toward Christ. Laura has been married to her husband Matt Tyler for nineteen years. Matt is the lead pastor at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. Laura and Matt have two daughters, both of whom attend PCA.
