main image

A group of 6th grade girls have been coming to the Art Room during lunch to transform the art teacher's desk into a celebration of life in the lowcountry!

Since February, Ms. Cooper has been helping them bring their ideas to life. Images they decided to put into their painting include the Ravenel Bridge, Rainbow Row, beach scenes, St. Michael's Church and much, much more.

It has been a joy to watch them work together as they find solutions to new creative challenges. Their painting project has brought more beauty to the Art Room!

Picturesque Rainbow Row Captured By Lower School Art Students!

"Art on a Cart" brought Rainbow Row paintings to Kindergarten through 5th grade this Spring! 4th and 5th grade students worked with acrylic paint on canvas, using their color mixing skills to create an array of neutral colors from green, pink and white for the sidewalk, chimneys and rooftops.

Kindergarten through 3rd grade students learned a little bit about Charleston architecture and our local tourist hotspot, Rainbow Row, before creating their own versions in watercolor. The results are delightfully vibrant!
