IMPACT: Upper School Chapels Reflect On All That God Is

“God is…”.

This is the theme of this year's Chapels, and what a wonderful way for the students to be reminded of all that God is and all that He does, on a weekly basis.

“The hope and prayer,” said Dean of Students, Charlie Wulff, “is that our students will get to know God better based on knowing him as He is and how He also expects us to live. Each attribute gives us a picture of how God is and that attribute also informs how we live. ”

This year's chapel speakers were chosen to help students try to understand all that God is. The list of speakers includes pastors, youth pastors from the Mount Pleasant/Charleston area, as well as ECBC staff, PCA faculty and staff, and parents.

The student-led IMPACT team is also helping to bring the theme of the year to life. Our IMPACT team is made up of two singers, Alyssa Carper (9) and Grace Jenkins (12) as well as three musicians, Bella Davenport on drums, and Hank Sanders and Ian Marlow alternating between piano and keyboard.

This year IMPACT also has a new advisor, ECBC’s new Contemporary Worship Director Quint Schoeneberg.

“I am excited to start a new chapter in my musical career,” said Davenport. “As well as get to help the team and bring a little rhythm to worship while having fun making music for the Lord!”

Like Wulff, Schoeneberg has a vision for how the IMPACT team's worship integrates with the theme of “God is…” “We want to put in front of the students songs that are not merely spiritual, but ones that are doctrinally sound, or better yet doctrinally driven."

Parents are always welcome at our weekly chapels. High school and middle school students rotate each week between chapel and small groups. For a complete look at our chapel schedules, please view the link below.
