Christ In The Marketplace Offers Valuable Career Guidance

main image

Christ in the Marketplace has always been a much anticipated event, but this year it looks a little different. Academic Counselor Sally Pascutti has put together a smaller model for speakers to come share how they demonstrate their faith in their field. In preparation, students in grades 9-11 completed the "Strengths Explorer" career interest assessment on Naviance.

First up last week was Sarah Pascutti, a professional photographer. Sarah's encouragement to the students was: “In our communication age, there is great opportunity for practical application of that arts. Every business needs visuals, design, and music to communicate with customers. You no longer have to be a starving artist. You are made in the image of the Creator, so as an artist, you have the privilege to shine light in an industry that can lean toward darkness.”

David Pascutti, a Biomedical Engineer, came to talk to the students about how exciting it was to be on the cutting edge of an industry that directly contributes to the good of the community. He told students that if they went into engineering, God had made them to be systematic thinkers, and they could love their neighbor well by improving health care. He also brought into focus the wide range of jobs in the Biotechnology industry including sales and business development.

Professionals planned for after Spring Break include:

  • Mike Jenks - CEO of Adapt Forward Cyber Security - Monday, April 17 at 1:30

  • Caroline Treece - Realtor

  • Terry Howard - Finance, Vanguard Vice President of Sales - Friday, April 16 at 1:30 pm

  • Kelli Hohm - Education & Ministry, Director of South Eastern University at Seacoast

Final dates and times for some of the speakers are still to be determined.

If students are interested in attending one of these speaker sessions, they can sign up below, or access the link via the email sent to students from Mrs. Pascutti.
