PCA Students Learn About Their Potential Futures

main image

A peek into a high school junior's next season of life is revealed as college representatives enter the halls of Palmetto Christian Academy. These college representatives come to the school with the goal of introducing students to different types of colleges. Academic Counselor Sally Pascutti strives to expose upperclassmen to three distinct types of colleges: small liberal arts, large public state, and Christian. When one of the three categories sparks the interest of a student, it can narrow down the search for the potential college experience. So far, PCA has had visits from the University of South Carolina, the University of Alabama (pictured), Sewanee, Grand Canyon University, and the College of Charleston among others.

Talking to college representatives is only the first step. Mrs. Pascutti also plans the yearly college tours! These are a great way for students to personally experience a future school. Juniors leave PCA to tour the campuses of four different colleges in South Carolina, including USC and Clemson. Mrs. Pascutti says of the trip, "I love going on college tours; they are memory makers. It's a special thing to be there when students get a glimpse of what the next phase of life may be, to get our feet on the ground and ask the Holy Spirit to inform us about the plans He has prepared for them."
