The Gift Of Encouragement: From One Student To Another

For the past three years the middle and high school students have been meeting together in small groups. These groups meet every other week for fellowship, worship, Bible study, and sometimes, to simply come together to bring joy to others.

Recently Kara Karnes' small group of seventh graders decided that they wanted to serve others around campus and make them smile, so the team came up with the idea of making Encourage Stones and leaving them around campus for others to find. The girls brought in the paint and stones and set to work decorating and laying them out.

Margaret Askins, a member of Karnes' small group, said the group chose to do Encourage Stones because “we wanted to have something for little kids to find to cheer them up if they were having a bad day!

Lower school student Tinley Hargrove was lucky enough to find one. “I was walking to my car when I found it. I think it is an amazing idea. It made me feel that God put me there to find it.”
