main image

Friday, February 5 was a big night for Varsity Boys basketball. The team hosted Calhoun Academy for their last home game of the season. There were several highlights throughout the evening, one being the recognition of our Seniors. A pre-game ceremony was held during which our 6 seniors - Kendall Chakeris, Tyler Fragola, Ethan Lowther, Carson Rourk, Connor Rourk and Wyatt Shogren - were all honored and recognized for their commitment to PCA Athletics. In a game that saw balanced scoring up and down the roster, the Eagles prevailed 70-41. Leading scorer was Kendall with 13 points, followed by Ethan with 11. Wyatt and Sawyer both scored 8, while the Rourk brothers scored 7 each. Sully and Jamison Howard each scored 6 points and Kaden scored 4. With the win the Eagles record rose to 12-3 overall, 8-0 in region play. The win clinched the region championship for the boys, which led to a mirror ball celebration in the locker room and the champions' traditional cutting of the nets. Congratulations guys!

Signing Day For Two PCA Athletes!

main image

The Fighting Eagles celebrated two seniors last Wednesday as they signed their national letters of intent to play golf on the collegiate level. Ava Romfo will attend UNC Greensboro and Andrew Propes will attend East Tennessee State University.

Proud family, coaches and friends gathered in the Welcome Center as the two talented athletes made it official.

Athletic Director Dale Hoover says, "We are extremely proud of Ava and Andrew for their accomplishments over their careers. Becoming a D1 athlete requires that you add great effort to your desire. Both of these athletes have spent countless hours improving their skills and it makes me happy to see them getting rewarded for all their hard work."

Congratulations to the Romfo and Propes families!
