Middle School Student Wins Patriot's Pen Essay Award

Last year 6th, now 7th grader, Aidan Cox won the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest, put on by the Isle of Palms Veterans of Foreign Affairs (VFW). Cox’s essay was based on the topic "What Is Patriotism to Me?" where he wrote about the importance of freedom and expression of religion.

“Students discussed the need to continue to strive for a "more perfect union," said Dr. Stark, “and to ensure that we live up to the fundamental American belief that ‘all men are created equal,’ which of course is rooted in a biblical worldview, by working for the good of our neighbors and our community.”

Cox’s essay, along with another classmate, won $50 cash and had their entries moved up to district level where Aidan’s essay placed third.

“I was very surprised and happy!” Cox said after he received his award and prize at last week's chapel. He also added that he had no idea he had won at the district level until the day of the award presentation.

Congratulations Aidan!

Homecoming 2021: What A Celebration!!!

What a glorious celebration of Homecoming at PCA as students of all ages enjoyed a variety of fun-filled activities and showed incredible school spirit!

Upper School students enjoyed dress up days throughout the week including Western Wear, Time Travel, and LA/Hollywood Days, while our entire school participated in Hawaiian Day and All Out Eagle (Blue & Gold) Day! We absolutely loved seeing the incredible costumes of our students and our faculty, who made it memorable with their spirit days ensembles!

Also on Friday, we celebrated our Fighting Eagles with a spirited all school pep rally in the new Student Life Center gym. How wonderful to see Eagles of all ages coming together in one event!

Later that night, a huge crowd of PCA families and fans enjoyed Friday Night Lights with a fierce battle and tremendous effort on the field by our Eagles, supported by our very talented cheer squad. Fans were also treated to an adorable mini cheer performance at halftime which led to the introduction of our 2021 Homecoming Court. A big congratulations to Paisley Dybowski and Spencer Evans who were crowned this year's Homecoming Queen and King! PCA Alumni, and last year's king and queen, Olivia Horne and Kendall Chakeris, joined us for the big moment.

But the celebration didn't end there. After the game, Chick-fil-A North Mount Pleasant hosted a 5th Quarter Event for our PCA families to gather, play cornhole, enjoy delicious food, and fellowship to wrap up the evening.

What an amazing week to be an Eagle!!!
