Student Life Center: A Lesson in Faith and Obedience

main image

Construction crews have now completed installation of the chain link fence surrounding the Student Life Center work site. Over Thanksgiving break, it was an exciting step forward as heavy construction equipment was brought onto our campus. Once we receive the clearing and grading permit from the town, which is expected no later than this Friday, December 6, we will begin clearing the site. We can't wait to see the tangible signs of progress on the much anticipated Student Life Center!

As we move forward on building, we must continue to press on in our fundraising efforts. We are asking you to help us make a match on an incredible $20,000 gift from a PCA family. With your generosity, we can join together to bless this gift and match it dollar for dollar. Our goal is to meet the match by December 7!

We encourage you to watch Kristin Klassen's story of faith and obedience. In her quiet time, she shared with the Lord that she wanted to be generous in giving to the Student Life Center. Kristin prayed a really big prayer.. and the result was immeasurably more than she could have imagined.

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." Malachi 3:10

National Honor Society Welcomes New Members

The annual Palmetto Christian Academy National Honor Society induction ceremony was held November 20 in the Worship Center. Students and parents of the new members gathered together to celebrate the students' accomplishments.

Clary Vance, NHS chapter adviser, and Anne Gregory Horton, president, planned and led the ceremony. Anne Gregory Horton was assisted by Rachel Jackson, vice-president, and Madison Broach, secretary, and Alyssa Godwin, treasurer, and Benjamin Salem, chaplin. "As president of the National Honor Society, I, along with the other officers and Mrs. Vance, worked hard to make sure the ceremony went smoothly. I could not be more proud of this year's inductees. They are a great class, and I know they will do great things this year in both the school and the community," says Anne Gregory Horton.

Membership in the society is determined by leadership, scholarship, character, service, and citizenship. To be considered for membership, sophomores and juniors must maintain at least a 4.2 GPA and demonstrate strong, admirable characteristics both inside and outside of PCA. National Honor Society chapter is involved in two local service projects in the community - the Ronald McDonald House and Water Missions International. Sophomore, Colin Johnson, describes, "It was an honor to be inducted into NHS and acknowledged for my academic achievements and accomplishments."

Congratulations to our new inductees: Julia Anderson, Rachel Andrews, Reese Baker, Ella Banks, Chase Benfield, Mary Grace Booker, Bella Byham, Paisley Dybowski, Fei Fleury, Colin Johnson, Morgan Kammer, Andrew Lamm, Maggie O'Hanley, Charlee Olson, David Pabst, Thomas Patrick, Trinity Rocha, Kaden Sorensen, Will Vandergrift, Lexi Walker, AnnaJaye Walters, Bess Weinheimer, and Hannah ZumBrunnen.
